Frances Wang-Ward

After a career in law Fran now applies her creative and analytical skills to producing and storytelling. Her films have screened at various international film festivals including Tribeca Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, as well as being a finalist at the prestigious Dendy Awards at the Sydney Film Festival. As a first generation Australian from Shanghai, Fran is committed to telling diverse stories from fresh and unexpected perspectives. She consults regularly on film and television projects.

Carmel Meiklejohn

Passionate about story, Carmel set up Bloombox Films with Fran to bring new voices to life. She has worked across film and TV as a producer, development executive and researcher. She co-produced Fatal Honeymoon (Cascade Films/ Lifetime) and produced factual entertainment series Men Down Under (Buffalo Pictures/BBC). She has made several documentaries and short films, including the short animation The Invention of Happy Hour, which screened at the London International Film Festival. She has worked as a freelance assessor and continues to consult with producers and writers on their projects. She hopes Bloombox will be a vehicle for storytellers to share their vision.
