When young asylum seeker, Safia, arrives in the remote town of Derby looking for her father, she is befriended by local school girl Tamsin offering help. When the girls discover Safia’s father is dead, they are confronted by a cruel and inflexible system that threatens to send Safia back to her home country of Afghanistan to a dangerous and uncertain future.

In the early hours, before shoppers descend upon a suburban mall, a group of seniors sign up for the ‘Health and wellbeing program’ to launch ‘Seniors Week’. As they hit their stride, some in the group struggle to keep up with the leader, whose mantra ‘use it or lose it’ grates. Instantly they’re united in their hatred of all things physical. Over the weeks as they grumble about ageing, ailments and being misunderstood, these oldies discover a renewed sense of vitality, mischief, and maybe even love. A morning with the Mallwalkers is definitely no walk in the park.
